This vibrant, elegant scarf is hand made from vintage silk, intended for kimonos, but never used.
The yellow/green side is a rinzu silk with a woven design of with a traditional pattern of an interlocking key fret called Sayagata and chrysanthemums or kiku. These are frequently used and denote good luck and endurance at any time of year.
The bright green/yellow colour is worn in early summer and suggests young sprouting shoots.
The blue/black side has a weave depicting clouds (kumo) and mists (kasumi). These motifs represent the change in nature and the natural life cycle, as well as the unending character of nature.
