Grey smudgey with silk fringeThis lovely scarf is made from the neckpiece of a vintage Japanese kimono. It is hand-painted silk and the pattern suggests clouds (Kumo). These natural forms symbolise transition being part of the weather system and ever-changing sky and are valued motifs in Shinto Bhudism.

The silk fringe is hand dyed to match and is from a Victorian shawl.
